Derek
Starnes brings over 18 years of expertise to our assurance and
consulting services practice. He is among today’s new breed of
accountants, shedding that backwards-looking approach and focusing on
the client and their future. In providing solutions for his client’s
accounting, consulting and financial reporting needs, Derek not only
employs his technical expertise but he also takes a proactive approach,
working closely with them in identifying and achieving those critical
success factors so vitally important to their long term success. This
superior level of client service and the relatioships he maintains are
the cornerstones to the value Derek provides his clients. His industry
expertise includes real estate, construction, manufacturing
distribution, technology, personal service organizations, employee
benefit plans and not-for-profit organizations as well as specialized
services such as mergers and acquisitions due diligence and
negotiation, internal control evaluations, financing and capital
funding activities.
Derek, his wife Dawn and their 4 children
reside in Marietta where Derek coaches organized youth football and
baseball and participates on many related boards. A sports enthusiast,
he is also an avid hunter and fly fisherman.
Derek received
his B.B.A. in Accounting from Kennesaw State University. He is a member
of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the
Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
